Nikka Taketsuru Pure Malt

Nikka Taketsuru Pure Malt Japanese Whiskey is a blended malt named in honor of Masataka Taketsuru, the father of Japanese whiskey. He is the first Japanese who mastered whiskey-making in Scotland and produced genuine whiskey in Japan. Masataka learned that the natural resources surrounding a distillery were essential for quality whiskey. Based on his thought, he selected two places, Yoichi and Miyagikyo, and built two distilleries there. Its gentle malt flavor, fruitiness, and extremely well-balanced taste make it a perfect entry point into the world of Nikka. Nikka's master blenders rely on a large variety of whiskey styles to achieve this level of balance and complexity. They combine the fresh and fruity notes of youthful whiskeys with the rich, evolved character of older ones, aged primarily in ex-sherry casks. Nikka Taketsuru Pure Malt Whiskey is gold in color with a pinkish hue and offers an engaging, fresh, and fruity nose. It provides white fruit, peach notes, and juicy grapes at first. Then it opens up on frangipane, panettone with raisins, malted barley, clementine, oaky and rustic notes (verbena, chamomile). It is vigorous and assertive on the palate with notes of coffee, licorice, toasted oak, and elusive peat. The finish is refined bitterness with hints of licorice, camphor, eucalyptus, malted barley.
