Cruzan Black Strap Rum

A mixologist favorite, Cruzan Black Strap Rum features robust licorice and molasses flavors that add an exotic element to your tropical favorites. A traditional, heavier rum made from the blackstrap molasses of sugar cane. In sugar refining, molasses is separated from the sugar crystals after each of three boiling or extraction processes that sugar cane goes through. The third and final separation is called blackstrap. Cruzan Black Strap Rum is rich in taste and aroma and darker in appearance than traditional rums. This rum is a select blend of medium to heavy-bodied aged rums in the classic tradition. Its most popular pairings include flavors such as lemon, lime, ginger, and pineapple. It is best enjoyed as a finishing element or floated on tropical Tiki cocktails. It's also great for adding color to drinks with its deep black hue. Try a Cruzan Dark Tide cocktail by combining one part each Cruzan Black Strap and Single Barrel Rum with two dashes of Angostura Bitters in a shaker. Shake for five seconds, double strain into a Collins glass, add ice, and top with ginger beer. Enjoy!
