Japanese Whiskey | Single Malt Whiskey
Suntory Yamazaki Aged 18 Years Single Malt is an award-winning Japanese Whiskey. It has made from 100% malted barley, which is milled and mashed before being fermented in Suntory's proprietary wooden vats. After fermentation, the whiskey has distilled through Suntory's copper-pot stills, the first of Scotland's kind. Before being aged in casks, it has made of three different types of woods: American, Spanish, and Japanese oak.
Here, the Japanese oak adds an Asian twist to the whiskey. After aging for 18 years in Japan's unique environment, the constant temperature and humidity changes affect the casks' breathing and the interaction between the wood and the whiskey — the whiskey has brought to proof before being bottled.
Yamazaki 18-Year-Old Single Malt Japanese Whiskey has a rich flavor tasting of mature autumn fruit. It has a deep amber color. The nose offers notes of vanilla, raisin, apricot, coffee, and Mizunara (Japanese Oak). The palate is of medium-body with blackberry, strawberry jam, and dark chocolate. The finish is long, spicy, and smooth. It has bottled at 43% alcohol by volume and pairs best to have as cocktails, neat. Grab your friends, and have a few pegs! Enjoy!
