American Whiskey | Rye Whiskey
High West is Utah's first distillery, born in 1879. High West A Midwinter Night Dram Straight Rye Whiskey is a limited release of High West Rendezvous Rye finished in French oak and port barrels. The whiskey is made from a marriage of six-year-old rye whiskey (made from 95% rye and 5% malted barley) and sixteen-year-old rye whiskey (made from a mash of 80% rye, 10% corn, 10% barley malt). After the rye whiskeys were married together, they were finished in French oak barrels and barrels that were previously used to mature port. On the nose, A Midwinter Night Dram offers notes of cinnamon rhubarb and plum pie, Orange Jaffa cake, star anise, cedar box, and toasted pecan with dates. Flavors of black cherry reduction, molasses, birch root, fig jam, and gingerbread. The finish shows notes of spiced clove, blackberries, candied ginger, wooden spice box, and orange peel. High West Distillery recommends that you enjoy this Midwinter Night Dram Rye Whiskey neat, due to its many layers of complexity, next to a warm fire as the snow piles up on the window sill. It also pairs beautifully with fig cookies! Enjoy!
