White Wine | Chardonnay
Gothic Ophelia Chardonnay White Wine 2014 is a barrel-fermented Chardonnay of extreme complexity and character named after Hamlet's star-crossed noblewomen. It is a companion to their 'Nevermore' Pinot Noir, where they source fruit from throughout the Willamette Valley to produce the best possible wine, each vintage. Some of these vineyards are farmed biodynamically, and most employ organic viticulture. Their fruit has cultivated with a deep respect for the land on which the vines are planted, and the surrounding nature.
This Ophelia Chardonnay offers vibrant aromas of yellow apple, summer melon, and jasmine complemented by flavors of ginger blossom, confit lemon, and starfruit. Judicious use of lees stirring during breeding helped to develop the mid-palate while contributing weight and complexity to the texture. A crisp, lingering finish follows a lush, medium mouthfeel. It has bottled at 13.5% alcohol by volume and pairs well with pork, fish, vegetarian, or poultry. Enjoy!
