Dom Ruinart Blanc de Blancs Brut 2004 is deep and more layered than many with an already complex and sweet-smelling nutty and toasty edge; it has a deliberate, almost showy style of toasty character. It opens to revel in freshly squeezed lemon juice, peach fruits, grilled nuts, and hints of spices and flowers. Very, very complex. The palate has compression and focus, impressive acidity, and a lengthy, super-attractive mid-palate. There's an almost sherbet-like fresh layer amid great depth, drive and focus. All the while, it retains a thread of creamy, fleshy fruit presence.
The 2004 vintage of Dom Ruinart Blanc de Blancs Brut boasts the lowest ever dosage at 5.5g per litre, a testament to its high quality. This Blanc de Blancs is sourced from exclusively Grand Cru vineyards, with 69% from Cote des Blancs and the rest from Montagne de Reims. After spending 9 years on the lees, it was disgorged in August 2014, a process that was repeated multiple times for this vintage, further enhancing its quality.
Dom Ruinart Blanc de Blancs Brut 2004 has a gorgeous pale golden yellow color with light green reflections, bright. The nose has great intensity with notes of fresh fruits, especially ripe citrus. It also has floral hints of white flowers and white fruits such as peach. The mouth is soft and harmonious, with a lot of roundness. The palate has hints of brugnon, citrus, and a nice minerality on the finish.
