Casa Lapostolle Cuvee Alexandre Merlot

Casa Lapostolle Cuvee Alexandre Merlotis a red wine made from grapes sourced from Lapostolle's famous Apalta vineyard in the Colchagua valley. It is a blend of 85% Merlot and 15% Carmenere. It has aged 15 months in French oak barrels: 39% in new oak, 20% in second, and 41% in third used French oak barrel.This Cuvee Alexandre Merlot has an intense dark purple color. It offers a sophisticated and intense nose with red and black ripe fruit such as raspberry and blueberries with dark plum notes and cacao aromas. The palate has a velvety texture, and it is very round with juicy tannins, balanced acidity, and a very persistent finish. It pairs well with meats and well-seasoned dishes with a red wine demi-glace such as short ribs and Angus beef. It is best to serve at 16°C. Enjoy!
